In the end of the world, I barely survived until the end, only to find myself turned into the protagonist of a tragedy. Whenever the female antagonist cries, the male lead tortures me. Only in the final moments does he realize he should chase after his wife. Ha, torture me? Does he really think I just coasted through the apocalypse? I won't become a parasite; if anything, let the man-eating flowers come and try!
The apocalypse had just ended, and I found myself in the body of an abusive romance novel's heroine.
Whenever the female antagonist cried, the male lead would torment me. It wasn't until the story's end that he realized his feelings and tried to win me back.
Tormented me? Did he really think I survived the apocalypse for nothing?
I wasn't a fragile flower. I was definitely a force to be reckoned with!
Hiss! Which idiot was stepping on me? Hadn't the apocalypse ended? Why were there still brainless zombies around?
With great effort, I opened my eyes and saw a man in a suit stepping on my hand.
Beside him stood a frail woman with red-rimmed eyes and fake-looking scratches on her arm.
"Kevin Kirk, Elliana Kirk only hurt me because she loves you too much. She didn't mean it. Please forgive her."
Her voice sounded like it had socks stuffed in her mouth. It was so annoying.
In my previous world, even zombies would find her too brainless to bother with.
"Elliana, didn't I tell you that Vivian Todd is the most important person to me? How dare you send someone to hurt her? Hmm?" Kevin looked down at me as if I were trash.
My mind was a bit foggy, but I finally understood my situation.
Had I transmigrated into a book again? And this book was just another mindless, abusive romance with a domineering CEO?
The male lead, Kevin, and the female antagonist, Vivian, were childhood sweethearts, but due to a twist of fate, he married the heroine, Elliana, whom he despised. Whenever Vivian had the slightest ailment, Elliana had to pay with her life.
Yet, this tragic heroine had a resilience that even I, who survived the apocalypse couldn't match.
Elliana endured physical and emotional abuse without losing health, and even after having her organs removed, she lived to the end. Kevin suddenly realized he loved Elliana all along, and after a brief pursuit, they achieved a happy ending.
What kind of ridiculous plot was this? I fought tooth and nail to survive the apocalypse, only to be tormented by two idiots more brainless than zombies before I even got to enjoy life?
I wouldn't stand for this nonsense!
"Why aren't you speaking? Don't think playing dead will cover up your malicious deeds!" Kevin pressed his shoe down harder.
My mind suddenly cleared up.
I grabbed his ankle and flipped him over, quickly getting to my feet. I tore the tape from my mouth, "You gagged me! How was I supposed to say anything?"
Vivian rushed to Kevin's side, her voice quivering with tears. "Elliana, Kevin only wanted to stop you from making a big mistake. He was advising you for your own good. How could you hit him?"
The chains clinked as I moved, and seeing Vivian about to help the scumbag up, I kicked him hard, sending him straight into the wall.
Seeing him clutch his chest and struggle to get up, I felt a sense of satisfaction.
The body of an abusive heroine was quite useful, with full recovery abilities. Despite all the abuse, she could still move freely.
I found the key to the chains on Kevin and freed myself.
My joints cracked as I stretched in the confined dungeon, the sound echoing softly.
As I approached, Vivian instinctively started to back away, "Elliana, what are you doing? Kevin is still here. How dare you bully me!"
In her panic, she dropped the grating tone, sounding much more pleasant.
I grabbed a whip from the dungeon and dragged Vivian away from the scumbag.
Kevin tried to stop me, but as soon as he reached out, he coughed up blood.
I sneered. Did he really think he could match the resilience of my body? My kick could take down anything, let alone a bully like him.
I tossed Vivian onto the empty ground nearby. She was still struggling, "Elliana, how can you be so cruel? You've already hurt me once. What more do you want? Can't you show a bit of humanity?"
Splash!
I scooped a bowl of water from a nearby tank and poured it over Vivian's head.
Her delicate makeup was ruined, making her look like a complete clown. Her pure white dress was splattered with mud, and she looked a complete mess.
The water tank was originally meant to torture me, but using it on her was a perfect example of making the best out of a bad situation.
"Elliana, don't make things worse. This will only make me despise you more! Vivian is so pure and kind. How can you be so heartless?" Kevin, still spitting blood, managed to say such infuriating words. Quite a talent.
I grabbed a rag and wiped Vivian's arm.
The "wounds" on her arm disappeared completely. I dragged her by the collar to Kevin's side, shoving her wrist under his nose, "Mr. Kirk, is this your pure and kind childhood sweethearts? Next time you accuse someone, be more careful and check the evidence first. Otherwise, it really makes you look foolish."
Kevin's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Vivian.
Perhaps he never imagined that his seemingly innocent Vivian could do such a thing. His eyes betrayed a mix of disappointment and hidden hurt.
His brow furrowed, and he whispered, "I'm sorry, Elliana."
"No need for apologies, because I'll soon make sure the charges stick." I said.
"Ahh!" She was in a moaning mess. She did not want to feel anything for this man. She hated him. His hands began to move all over her body. She gasped when he pulled down the back chain of her dress. The chain stopped at her lower waist, so when he zipped it off, her upper back and waist were exposed. "D-Don't touch m-ummm!" His fingers rolled around her bare back, and she pressed her head against the pillow. His touches were giving her goosebumps all over her body. With a deep angry voice, he whispered in her ear, "I am going to make you forget his touches, kisses, and everything. Every time you touch another man, you will only think of me." - - - Ava Adler was a nerdy omega. People bullied her because they thought she was ugly and unattractive.
