Norah had to make a big move to Raybourne City after an engagement arrangement between her family and the Chase family. She wasn't given the best welcome as everyone thought she was a country girl who wanted to dig gold by marrying into a wealthy family. All three sons of the Chase couple refused to have anything to do with her. They scoffed and belittled her, saying that she wasn't their type and they had better options to choose from. Unbeknownst to them, Norah was more than they thought she was. She had multiple careers going well for her. She was a renowned contemporary artist, an enigmatic hacker, a world-famous designer, a top racer, and even the founder of a widely-known luxury brand. She didn't need their goddamn money! Norah enjoyed working anonymously in different fields. But one day, her secret identities were exposed. The three brothers instantly made a U-turn. Janson, the eldest of them all, said so romantically, "I think we are a match made in heaven, Norah. If you get married to me, you will be the wife of the president of Chase Group." Simon, the third son, declared, "Norah, I can move mountains for you. I want to marry you even if I have to fight with my big brother." Hearing this, the second son, Darren was speechless. He still couldn't believe what was happening. "Are you guys being serious right now? You want to chase me after rejecting me? Ha-ha! It's too late!" Norah snorted coldly. She was fed up with the whole engagement thing, so she decided to leave. But before she could do so, the infamous playboy, Darren grabbed her by the arm. He refused to let her go despite her struggle. He stared her dead in the eye and smirked evilly. "You flirted with me, and now you want to leave? Over my dead body!"
At the suburban Sorphis airport
"Grandpa, I've just landed in Sorphis." Norah Bector was talking on her phone, balancing her luggage in her other hand as she strolled through the VIP section of the airport.
"Good to hear you've arrived safely, Norah. The three sons of the Chase family are waiting to pick you up outside the airport." The elderly man's friendly and dignified voice emanated from the other end of the phone.
"Alright, Grandpa. Don't forget our agreement," Norah responded casually. "If I don't find love with any of them within three months, our families' marriage contract will be canceled. You won't meddle in my marital affairs after that. And make sure the Chase family doesn't find out who I am."
The old man chuckled and reassured her, "I've never broken a promise, don't worry."
Outside, three distinctively styled young men stood by their luxurious vehicles.
The eldest had a sharply defined face, exuding the aura of a driven, ambitious professional.
The youngest had an innocent, youthful look, brimming with energy. However, his current impatience gave off an air of unapproachability.
The most striking among the three was the one dressed in the most understated manner. Anyone who noticed him momentarily forgot to breathe and then let out a heartfelt sigh, acknowledging that he was indeed a favorite of the Creator!
The three young men, with high-end clothes and blessed with remarkable looks, caught the attention of passersby, making everyone glance back repeatedly.
The onlookers didn't dare to approach too closely. Instead, they could only exchange hushed whispers with their companions.
"Oh, my God! Look at them!"
"Are they here to pick someone up?"
"Who's the lucky one? Whoever the person is, they must be extraordinary to have three affluent and good-looking men picking them up simultaneously!"
Amidst the public gaze, the three sons of the Chase family appeared somewhat impatient, as if they were there under compulsion.
"I've been standing here for over thirty minutes. My feet are killing me!" Simon Chase, the youngest one, complained. He nudged his eldest brother, Jansen Chase, and grumbled, "What is Grandpa thinking? Why is he pushing us to pick up a country girl from the airport? She got lucky by saving Grandpa's life once, didn't she? Why on earth did Grandpa saddle us with this task? It's absurd that one of us is supposed to marry her!"
Jansen kept glancing at his watch, seemingly impatient. He looked at Simon flatly and said, "It's Grandpa's decision, so just accept it without complaining."
Jansen might not have voiced his disdain as openly as Simon, but deep down, he held a low opinion of the girl they were supposed to meet.
"Why should I hold back? Grandpa's not here," Simon retorted with a snort.
Darren Chase, the middle son, was the most relaxed of the three. He tried to ease Simon's mood, suggesting, "She might be pretty."
"Stop daydreaming!" Simon sneered. "I guess no man is willing to marry her. That's why she's turning to the Chase family to repay her for her kindness. Bet that country girl must be plain and unsightly!"
Suddenly, a voice emerged from behind the three.
"Are you talking about me?"
They all turned and were visibly taken aback.
The woman standing before them sported thick, lengthy bangs that draped over her forehead and nearly obscured her eyes. She was wearing a pair of big and thick glasses with a black frame, and these covered most of her face.
Her attire was extremely plain, and none of her clothes bore recognizable brand names.
Even more peculiar was the large, colorful, woven bag she carried. Was that supposed to be her luggage?
"Wow, look at these cars! They are incredible!" Norah exclaimed, admiring the luxury vehicles with wide-eyed wonder, like someone who had never seen such things before.
She said aloud, "Back in the countryside, I only drove a tractor. Are these faster than a tractor?"
None of the brothers responded, each wearing an expression of distaste.
Without a word, Jansen got into the driver's seat of his car and slammed the door shut, clearly not intending to let Norah ride with him.
Simon's face was a picture of disgust. He said to Darren, "You were the one who thought she might be pretty. So, you can take her. I'll leave her to you."
With that, Simon pushed Norah toward Darren, started his car, and drove off, leaving a cloud of exhaust behind.
Hidden behind her thick bangs, Norah scrutinized the solitary man facing her, speculating when he'd be frightened off by her.
Surprisingly, Darren, the most attractive of the three, took the woven bag from her and smiled. "Let me carry that. It's not polite to let a lady lug such a heavy item. I almost forgot to introduce myself. The name's Darren Chase."
He effortlessly tossed the woven bag into the trunk as he spoke. Then, he strolled to the front of the car and courteously opened the passenger seat door for Norah. "After you, Miss Bector."
Darren certainly acted like a true gentleman. He didn't seem to mind her "country girl" appearance. At the thought, Norah smiled.
However, as soon as she entered the car, she was hit by a strong perfume scent. She wrinkled her nose and covered it with her hand.
"I apologize," Darren said quickly, noticing Norah's reaction. "That's probably the lingering scent from my date last night..."
Norah realized what he meant and felt a wave of disgust.
Indeed, he was well-known as a playboy in Sorphis.
The favorable impression she had just had disappeared in an instant. She wished she could get out of the car immediately. But the car had already started.
From the corner of his eye, Darren noticed Norah's look of distaste. He gave a cheeky smile and advised, "If you're thinking about marrying into the Chase family, I'd suggest not picking me. I have many female partners and can't give them up."
Norah grasped his intention. She smirked inwardly and intentionally baited him, saying, "What if I decide to pick you?"
Darren gripped the steering wheel tighter and stayed silent.
His reaction left Norah feeling slightly bored. Was he intimidated that easily?
When they arrived at the Chase family mansion, Norah played up her bumpkin persona and sighed at the building. She unbuckled her seatbelt, ready to exit the car.
However, at that very moment, a dark silhouette suddenly loomed before her. It was Darren who leaned in and gently pressed her against the backrest.
Norah was taken aback. She had never seen a man so bold with her before!
"What are you trying to do?" Norah asked, her voice tinged with apprehension.
Darren playfully lifted Norah's chin and asked with a grin, "Miss Bector, didn't you select me? I've been with plenty of gorgeous women. It's nice to switch things up and be with someone like you occasionally."
He then leaned in, seemingly about to kiss her.
