Rosina accidentally got pregnant after a night with a stranger. As if that wasn't bad enough, due to a deal she made, she was forced to marry the man she had been engaged to ever since she was a child. Their marriage was supposed to be nothing but a deal. However, as fate would have it, she gradually fell for the man. Just as her due date approached, the man handed her divorce papers, which broke her heart and made her give up on him. Unexpectedly, their paths crossed again later. The man claimed that he had always loved her. The question is, would Rosina be willing to get back together with him?
"Is this your first time?"
The man's breath washed over Rosina Bentley's ear, sending a shiver down her spine, but she didn't dare to open her eyes.
"Relax. I'm not going to hurt you," the man said in a hoarse voice.
Before Rosina could answer, the man pinched her chin and kissed her forcefully.
It hurt!
The tearing pain made her mind go blank for a moment.
Finally, the man let her go and went to the bathroom. As soon as he left, Rosina dragged her tired body out of the bed, put on her clothes, and walked out of the room.
Suddenly, the sound of her phone ringing pierced the quiet night.
Rosina took a look at her phone and her eyes widened in panic. Without a second thought, she rushed to the hospital.
Feeling helpless and heartbroken, Rosina begged the doctor in between sobs, "Please... Please save my mother and brother..." Rosina signed her name on the document tremblingly and handed it to the doctor.
The doctor looked at her and sighed. "There's nothing we can do for you brother. I'm sorry for your loss!"
The doctor's words hit her like a bolt of lightning. Stunned, Rosina suffered a severe dizzy spell and nearly fainted.
Her knees buckled from underneath her and she collapsed on the floor.
Eight years ago, when she was ten years old, her father sent her and her pregnant mother to a foreign country, only to abandon them. The two had no choice but to fend for themselves alone.
Later, her younger brother was born, but when he was three years old, he was diagnosed with autism. She and her mother worked part-time jobs to make ends meet, but the sudden car accident made their situation worse.
Unable to bear the pain, Rosina lost consciousness.
"Miss? Miss! Nurse! This lady fainted..."
A month later
Holding a takeaway bag of food, Rosina waited as the elevator rose to her designated floor.
Her mother's condition had improved after getting treated. However, when she heard that her son didn't make it, she grew depressed and lost a lot of weight.
Ding!
Rosina took a deep breath and approached the door to her mother's ward. Before she went inside, she overheard someone talking inside.
"Josie, you and Mrs. Walsh were best friends. You agreed that your kids should get married. Your daughter should be the one to marry into the Walsh family..."
"What on earth do you mean, Perry Bentley? What the hell are you talking about?" Josie Morris glared at the man standing at the foot of the hospital bed.
This was the man who had left the pregnant Josie and their daughter behind in a strange place. He never bothered to check on them in eight years. Now he had the audacity to show up out of nowhere and marry Rosina off to some stranger!
"He's the eldest son of your best friend. He's quite handsome. You already know the background of the Walsh family. Rosina will be living an affluent life after marrying into their family..." His voice trailed off as he hesitated slightly.
Mr. Walsh was indeed a noble and handsome man, but he had recently been disabled. A month ago, he went abroad for business and was bitten by a venomous snake. The venom paralyzed his nerves, which made him paralyzed from the waist down.
If Rosina married him, her marriage would be sexless and joyless.
"I'll marry him."
All of a sudden, the door swung open and Rosina waltzed in, clutching the bag of food tightly. "I'll get married, but on one condition."
Perry looked towards the door and was stunned for a second. He hadn't seen Rosina in eight years.
She had grown a lot. Her skin was dewy, but she was too thin, as if she was malnourished. In his eyes, she wasn't as lovely as his youngest daughter.
"What condition?" Perry asked with a frown.
"Mom and I will go back home, and you have to give back everything that belongs to her. Then, I'll marry that man." As she spoke, Rosina clenched her fists so tightly that her fingernails dug into her palms.
"Rosina..." Josie tried to talk some sense into her daughter.
Rosina had gone through so much with her. She simply couldn't stand by and watch as her daughter was forced to marry someone.
Hearing this, Perry was worried that Rosina would change her mind, so he quickly said, "Okay, okay. As long as you'll marry him, I'll bring you back."
"And what about my mother's property?"
Seeing that Perry hesitated, Rosina sneered coldly.
"I'm sure my sister is very beautiful and deserves a better husband. If she marries a disabled man, her whole life will be over. Anyways, you and Mom have divorced. It's only right that you return the money she brought to the Bentley family."
Hearing this, Perry guiltily avoided eye contact with Rosina.
Finally, Perry gritted his teeth and gave in. "I'll return it after you marry him."
His youngest daughter was gorgeous. How could he let her marry that man and waste her potential?
Thinking about this, Perry felt a little reconciled.
But his feelings of hatred towards Rosina worsened. Not only was the girl sharp-tongued, but also greedy for his money.
Perry shot her a cold glance. "Watch your tongue, you rude child!"
Rosina rolled her eyes and didn't intend to argue.
She was too weak and powerless now. She couldn't risk offending Perry.
"Pack up your things. We'll leave tomorrow." Without waiting for a response, Perry turned around and stormed out of the ward.

"You're a creepy bastard." His eyes smolder me and his answering grin is nothing short of beautiful. Deadly. "Yet you hunger for me. Tell me, this appetite of yours, does it always tend toward 'creepy bastards'?" **** Widower and ex-boss to the Mafia, Zefiro Della Rocca, has an unhealthy fixation on the woman nextdoor. It began as a coincidence, growing into mere curiosity, and soon, it was an itch he couldn't ignore, like a quick fix of crack for an addict. He didn't know her name, but he knew every inch of her skin, how it flushed when she climaxed, her favourite novel and that every night she contemplated suicide. He didn't want to care, despising his rapt fascination of the woman. She was in love with her abusive husband. She was married, bound by a contract to the Bratva's hitman. She was off-limits. But when Zefiro wanted something, it was with an intensity that bordered on madness. He obsessed, possessed, owned. There'd be bloodshed if he touched her, but the sight of blood always did fascinate him. * When Susanna flees from her husband, she stumbles right into the arms of her devilishly handsome neighbour with a brooding glare. He couldn't stand her, but she needed him, if she was ever going to escape her husband who now wanted her dead. Better the devil you know than the angel you don't. She should have recalled that before hopping into Zefiro's car and letting him whisk her away to Italy. Maybe then, she wouldn't have started an affair with him. He was the only man who touched her right, and the crazy man took no small pains in ensuring he would be the last.
