"Dad I don't want any of these" I said frustratingly after my dad disclosed the marriage plan between me and his best friend's daughter who happens to be Anita.
"You have no choice son...you know I'm actually doing this for the betterment concerning your future and the future of my company. I want to make sure things fall in place before I finally journey to the great beyond" my dad said and wheeled his wheel chair closer to me.
"I understand your point dad. But trust me everything will be fine with me under control trust me. I don't have to marry Anita to assure you of your company's safety" I said and bent low to the height of my father.
"You have to understand me Micheal. I and Benson have come a long way. Marrying Anita to you won't be bad. Besides I'd love you to lean on Benson later on. Or isn't Anita beautiful?" My dad said placing his left hand on my broad shoulder while squeezing them lightly. I've gotten fond of that. When I was little he would squeeze it gently in assurance which would make me giggle then. I sighed and batted my lashes before speaking up again.
"Anita is beautiful dad...he is your friend so him helping your company shouldn't be a problem when u might have gone besides I don't have feelings for Anita dad. I feel no butterflies for her" I said which sent my dad giggling. Why was he laughing? I said nothing funny right?.
"Have you tried giving her a chance in your life?....just give it a trial son....treat her to lunch or something...be a man" my dad.
"Please son....do this for me" my dad added. And I sigh before throwing my hands in the air.
"Fine dad...I'll consider what you just said....I hope things work out cause.... nevermind" I said.
"Please do....have a nice day at work....and you can please tell Clara that I'd love to have a glass of warm milk" my dad said already wheeling his chair towards his study room.
Clara is my dad's personal maid who has been working for us for fifteen years now. I've known her too well so I'm mostly free with her than other maids. I strode to the kitchen while my suitcase sway beside me as I held it firmly while walking.
"Morning Clara" I said with a quick smile.
"Good morning young master. And I hope you slept well" Clara said smiling.
"Sure. My dad wants milk" I said and made to walk out of the kitchen.
"You wouldn't mind trying some french toast right?...freshly made" Clara said beaming with smiles.
"Ugh...sure...I'll just have some before leaving" I said heading to the kitchen counter. Clara served me the French toast in a ceramic plate along with a glass of water before starting to prepare the milk. The French toast tasted really good that I craved for more.
"I'll go serve him his milk" Clara said carrying a tray with a glass of milk on it
"Sure and please do make sure he takes his medications" I said chugging down the whole glass of water.
"Sure...and I hope you liked the toast" Clara said.
" Hell yes...I would love to have more some other time" I said standing up.
" Good morning sir" some of the maids entering the kitchen with some groceries greeted. And I just waved.
*Oh my goodness!....the board meeting!* I thought before hurrying out of the kitchen towards my car that was parked outside.
"Good morning sir" Josh my driver greeted and I nodded simultaneously before getting into the car.
"You have to drive fast Josh...I don't want to be late for this meeting" I said getting unsettled. I've been working towards this particular meeting and won't trade it for anything. I guess my dad talked too much that's why I'm late or ....the French toast took most of time!.
"Wait!" I stopped Josh before he exited the house.
"My briefcase Josh....on the kitchen counter...hurry please" I said and cursed inwardly before rumpling my hair. Today just seem to be bad!.

I yawned slightly as I sat on my bed. I stretched my hand to my lampstamd and grabbed my glasses before putting them on.
"Great" I said slightly in satisfaction after putting on my glasses. I murmured some few prayer points before getting up. Growing up as a child my mom has always made me pray every morning even when I don't want to. I've lived with prayers all my life. I'm an adult for Christ. I've always been submitted to God all my life through the help of my mom. She made me see reasons why I should always turn to God. I lost my dad when I was four to a ghastly motor accident. Then when I was young, I would try to bring the death of my dad up as a reason why I should no upt pray to God. I once believed God cheated me by taking him away from us. But my mom proved me wrong she made me see things in a different way to which I'm still grateful for.
I walked to the kitchen to get a class of water. My eyes caught a note on the table. I knew instantly that my mom dropped it I smiled before grabbing the note.
* Wakey wakey sunshine. I hope you prayed this morning. As you see im off for work breakfast is in the dining. Make sure you eat enough before leaving for work...kisses* that was the note's content. I smiled widely and kissed the note. I dropped it on back on the table and did a happy dance. I just feel so light and happy today. I drank some water and made way to the bathroom for my morning rituals.
I don't want to be late for work if not madam Rosa will be so mad at me. Madam Rosa is the owner of the restaurant I work as a waitress for. I've been working there for close to six months. My salary is pretty good so I don't plan to loose my job anytime soon...at least for the main time.
Ring...ring my phone rang from my room. I hurriedly rinsed my mouth and ran to my room to pick up the call. I smiled and rolled my eyes before picking up the call. It was Sarah my best friend. She also works at madam Rosa's restaurant.
Hey girlfriend I said happily while scanning my eyes through my wardrobe for a suitable wear.
Uh! Thank goodness my call did not wake you up today....you know you are a late a*" Sarah said laughing making me laugh too.
Well as you can see I'm up early today I said.
Good for you....just wanted to check up on you Sarah said.
* Sure.... we'll meet at Rosa's* I said and hung up.
(Michael's pov)
The car halted from of my company..The Carson's. I hurriedly got down and made way into the building.
Good morning sir workers greeted similarly and i just waved my hands and gave a friendly smile before hurrying to my office.
"The board meeting sir... it's.." Martha my personal assistant tried to say but I cut her off.
" I know...I'm late...but we can still catch up okay?" I said and made way into the elevator along with Martha.
"Actually sir....that's not what I mean" Martha said and I roll my eyes.
"Let's just make it fast...we can talk about other things later we are running late" I said and handed her my briefcase before stepping out of the elevator.
"Go wait in the meeting room while I grab some files in my office" I said and left.
On getting to my office, I found out it was unusually open. I became curious and quietly entered into the office....who knows someone might actually be stealing from me* I thought. But on entering inside, I found Anita comfortably sitting on my chair. I was angry. I never expected her to be here. At least she should give some respect to my privacy.
"Ohh...you are here....I've been waiting for you for so long" Anita said standing up from the chair.
"What are you doing here" I said trying to act calm. But deep down I was angry and in full rage.
"Ohh...you don't have to bother about missing any meeting" she said and i furrow my brows in a confused state.
"And what do you mean by that" I said walking to my desk to grab the files i came for.
"I cancelled the meeting" she said and I became mute for some seconds trying to place what she just said.
"You did what!?" I yelled in anger. Walking into my office without my permission wasn't enough for her??...she had the effrontery to cancel a board meeting I've been working on for the past few weeks??.
"Chill sweedy....I noticed you've been working too much lately and that you needed rest so I used my power to cancel the meeting...you know money can do so many things" Anita said ignorantly.
"This is stupid Anita! Should I thank you for helping me get the contract or what!?" I said raising my voice up.
"You should Mike...I got you a contract without going through any stress...come on i deserve some accolade" Anita said and i clench my fist in annoyance. Fine! I wanted the contract but won't they think I'm not worth it?....I mean..I showed them no article they might think I'm not good at it and decided to get it with money. What has this pest caused!* I thought.
"Enough of this madness Anita!" I said and bang my hand on the table making some paper works fall. Anita flinches in fear as she gasp slightly.
" I only wanted the best for you" she said standing akimbo.
"That's stupidity! ....buying off a contract like that? Do you know how much mess you just caused for me?...come on Anita you should know better than being pathetic" I said burying my face in my palm. I heard a light sob and I raised my face up and saw Anita sobbing.
"I thought you would like it and now you raising your voice at me" Anita said crying.
*Ohh this is bad!" I thought within.
"Maybe I should just go tell your dad how much you hate me" Anita said crying out loud.
"Okay look, I'm sorry ok...I was just curious that's all" I said walking towards her.
"But I'm hurt" she said pulling me to hug her. I sigh and soothe her back slowly.
"Why don't we go for some small chops"i said and her face brightened up immediately.
"I'd love that Mike"she said and pecked me before grabbing her bags. Tch!
"Who is she?" I asked, feeling tears well up in my eyes. "He met her at the Alpha training camp," he said. "She is a perfect suitor for him.
