Chad has been my neighbour for as long as I can remember. We practically grew up together since our parents were the best of friends. Out side of school, he would tease me and inside of school, he'd ignore me. He was the most confusing but hottest guy I knew. No lie. He was gorgeous with his chocolate brown eyes and soft black hair. It was all too good to be true though. He seemed almost perfect, apart from the fact he is the baddest bad boy in our school. He was a major player and could get any girl whenever he wanted. And me? I'm Lucy. I'm just an average girl, it's not like i have boys dropping at my feet but I do have a few boys who have liked me. Unlike most of the female population, I don't spend my time getting dressed up to impress Chad. Instead, I spend my time reading books, even writing them! Any who, my life was completely fine until my bad boy neighbour started acting a little stranger than usual. ******** "Chad! Stop!" I shout, letting out an embarrassing squeal before I burst out laughing. "No Lucy, I'm never going to stop" he says seriously, his eyes looking into mine. I did a double take. "W-What?" I choke out, looking up at him. My eyes were wide when I heard his next words. "I'm never going to stop telling you because it's true" he says, his eyes were burning with so much sincerity and awe, it made me blush. "I'm never going to stop telling you the truth"
Before I start the book, I just want to say a few things. First of all, I'm just going to warn you. This book wouldn't be perfect, there WILL be spelling or grammar errors. There will be times when some of you think that it's confusing or going to fast, etc. But if you don't like this book, or mistakes, or errors then DON'T READ it. If you want to correct me, then feel free to but PLEASE don't leave any hate comments. Secondly, I'm 15 years old. You're probably asking yourself why you should care, but It's just so you know I'm still in school.
I have to do homework and exams so I wouldn't be able to update all the time but I will when I can. Each chapter would probably be a few thousand words long. All the characters are completely made up alone with the story line.
Now, I want to introduce the main characters:
Chad Smith: He is the ultimate bad boy player. He is Lucy's neighbour. He has brown eyes and black hair. Some chapters may be written in his POV. He's 18.
Lucy Kennedy: She is an ordinary girl. She has long blond hair and honey coloured eyes. She is 17 years old and the majority of the book would be in her POV.
Darren Miller: The best friend of Chad, also a big player and 'bad boy'. He has green eyes and brown hair. He is 17. Very little to zero chapters would or wouldn't be written in his POV.
Daniella Tucker: Lucy's best and only friend. They have been inseparable since the age of 5. She has long black hair and and bright blue eyes. She is 17. Very little to zero chapters would or wouldn't be written in her POV.
Sophia Jackson: She is the 'queen b' of the school. She is a stereotypical cheerleader with platuim blonde hair and baby blue eyes. She is 17 and convinced that her and Chad are 'meant to be'. There will be no chapters in her POV.
Right, on with the story...
Chapter 1- Edited
Lucy POV
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Sighing, I turn off my alarm clock.
"HONEY! ARE YOU UP?" My mum shouts up the stairs.
Wow, It's 7AM and she is shouting, isn't she aware we have neighbours? Although, I don't care about waking up the worst neighbour ever, Chad Smith.
"YES!" I shout back, standing up and opening my curtains. The sun shone through the window making me squint a little.
"Hey love" Said a very familiar, annoying voice.
"Didn't I tell you to stop calling me that?" I ask with a whine with a small pout. What? I'm a child at heart.
"And didn't I tell you to stop trying to catch me naked?" He smirked.
Everyone, Chad Smith. My annoying, bad boy neighbour.
It was only then that I noticed he was shirtless. Damn, for an ass, he was hotter than hell.
"I'm not! Like hell would I like to see you naked" I scoff and he smirked at me.
"Whatever, any other girl would like to. Any NORMAL girl" he says smugly. Okay, I'm not going to deny that because 1- he had the entire female population at his feet (except for me and Dani) and 2- because I'm not normal. I'm far from it.
To most people, I'm quiet, but to my close ones, I'm like a 5 year old on crack.
"Why am I still talking to you? I'm losing brain cells just by looking at you!" I mutter more to myself but I'm guessing he heard since he let out a chuckle.
"Is that your way of telling me you look at me?" he asked and I scoffed.
"Get lost Smith, I have more important places to be" I say and turn around.
"What? Like school" he asked with a smirk. That is all this boy does, smirk and bug the crap out of me.
"Well, personally I think school is it's own hell but yes, that's better than talking to you!" I huff before closing my curtains.
"Damn, I was hoping to see you get changed" he mutters but loud enough so I can hear him.
"You will never see me get changed. Even if you were that last thing alive" I say before choosing out clothes and going to the bathroom.
I locked the door and looked in the mirror. My long blond hair was in a messy bun and my mascara was smudged all down my face. I almost felt embarrassed that Chad had saw me like that... Almost.
I turned on the hot water and got undressed before standing under the water. I washed myself and my hair before getting out. I dried off and put on my under wear before seeing what clothes I had chosen out. A pair of black, high wasted skinnies (no surprise there) and a olive green shirt with lace around the edges. Super cute and not at all slutty.
I dry my hair before washing my face and brushing my teeth and leaving the bathroom.
"Ah!" I shout when I see Chad laying on my bed... WAIT, he is on MY bed.
"You okay sweetie?" My dad asks from outside the room.
"Yeah, i nearly fell over. I'm fine" I lie, glaring at the hot bad boy in my room.
I heard my fathers footsteps get quieter before I turn to Chad.
"What the hell are you doing in my room?" I ask, my voice is a higher pitch.
"Well, I assume your mother haven't told you but you are coming to school with me" he says with an adorable smirk. Did I say adorable? I meant stupid. Yeah.
"Like hell would I go with you" I say
"Awe, I love how much you love me" he says sarcastically and crushing me in a bear hug.
"But you have no choice love" he whispered and i pushed him off of me.
"I'll see you downstairs" he winks before kissing my cheek and jumped out the window, leaving me stunned.
I'll hate to admit but I felt butterflies erupt and fireworks. My body felt like it was on fire. I glared at the window.
Stupid bad boy.
I put my black wedge heels on, making me 5"7 and put in some silver earrings. I put on some eyeliner and mascara before I grabbed my phone and bag and walking downstairs.
"Hey neighbour" Chad says, throwing an arm over my shoulder.
Even with the extra height, he still towered over me.
"You two are so cute" my mum squeals and i glared at the floor.
Stupid people.
"I can't wait till you two get together" she says making me choke on the water I was drinking.
"What?" I sputtered. Chad laughed.
"Me either" he says, winking at me which was totally ho-- gross.
"Mum!" I groan. "Me and Chad equals no no, okay?" I say and my dad pats my head.
"Don't be embarrassed sweetie" he says.
Traitors.
"Anyway, let's get going" Chad says, saying goodbye to my mum and dad.
"I'm not going with you" I say and turn to my mum and dad.
"Why am I going with him?" I ask them.
"I have to borrow your car for work" mum smiled.
"What... but... but my car." I whine and Chad burst out laughing.
Where is your car?" I ask confused.
"It's getting fixed. Don't ask what happened. You will ride with Chad until my car is fixed, no questions asked" she stated and my jaw dropped.
Grumbling under my breath, I head outside.
"Aw, cheer up love, you're riding with me after all" he says and I huff.
"You say that like it is a good thing" I say and he smiled... okay?
"I know whats wrong, it's the sexual tension" he says and i start coughing.
"Shut up!" I screech and he laughed.
"You didn't even deny it, you like me" he says in a sing song voice. He had a huge smile on his face and his eyes were a lighter colour. He looked genuinely happy...
"Chad, stop dreaming" I say and he rolled his eyes, the smile gone from his face.
"My dreams are a little more... exciting" he says, wiggling his eyebrows making me laugh.
The rest of the ride to school was mostly filled with jokes. That was until we pulled up at school.
Sophia Jackson opened the car door and practically leaped on to him.
"What the fuck? Get off of me!" Chad nearly shouts and just like that she is off of him.
"Why?" she asked with a pout.
Sophia Jackson was the queen b of the school. She had platinum blonde hair and baby blue eyes. Although looking beyond gorgeous, she cakes herself in makeup and wears clothes that looks like something a baby would wear. Today, she was wearing a short, short black miniskirt that only just covered her ass with a white vest crop top. To be honest, it looks like a bikini top.
"Because I'm busy and I don't want your grubby hands all over me" He says and I bite my lip so I don't burst out laughing.
Her eyes meet mine and her baby blue eyes turn darker as she glared daggers at me.
"You're choosing her, over me!" She screeched at him. I'm just about to cut in when he nods.
"I'm not choosing anyone over you, I just don't like you" Chad, kind of, defends me and I smile.
"But I love you" she states which her jaw touching the floor.
"I don't love you. I love someone else" he says leaving her (and me) stunned.
"Now GO!" he shouts and she scurries off, with her followers.
"Sorry about that" he smiled sheepishly and I do a double take.
He just apologised yet he NEVER has before, to anyone.
"It's fine" I smile back. "Anyway, I should be going, Dani would be waiting for me" I say and go to open the door.
"W-Wait" he stuttered. Did he just stutter? First apologising, then declaring he loves someone, then stuttering. What next, he is going to propose to the girl.
"What's up?" I ask as I turn to face him.
"Does Daniella like Darren?" He asked and I shrugged.
"I don't think so. Why? Does he like her?" I ask, beyond confused.
"I think so" he says and gets out. I try to move but I can't. Darren, the bad boy, the player might like my best friend and he loves someone. Wow.
He opens the door for me.
"Thanks" I smile and he smiled back.
"Do you reckon you could ask her for me?" he asked and slung his arm over my shoulder.
Well, that's new.
"Yeah, of course. Just tell him, if he even thinks about using my best friend I will get my brother on him" I say and he shivered.
That's one of the reasons my bullied stopped, because of my older brother.
He is on the wrestling team and could probably knock out 5 boys at once.
No lie.
"I don't think he is going to play her or he would've already" he says as we walked to meet Dani.
"Just a warning" I mutter and he chuckled.
People were staring and whispering and it made me uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?" he asked, looking down at me.
"People are staring and talking" I say and he looks at me, confused.
"So?" He asked.
"I don't like it, it makes me uncomfortable" I say looking down.
Chad puts his hand under my chin and lifts it so I meet his eyes. He is a lot closer than I thought.
People stopped talking and staring. They just looked at us.
"Do you want them to stop?" he asked softly.
"I bet he is going to kiss her"
"She is a whore"
"Gross"
"He could do better than... that"
"She is probably easy"
This was the nicest things that were said.
"Yeah" I say quietly, my voice just above a whisper. I look back down and listen to what they say.
"Wow, I might try and get her into bed after"
"That's gross" his friend said.
"What? A quick, easy fuck?" He smirked and his friend chuckled.
"I'll go after you!" he says.
"She is disgusting"
"I feel sorry for him, she hasn't even had her first kiss"
"Hey, Lucy. Don't listen to them, okay? They are going to talk shit because they are jealous" Chad whispers.
"Jealous of what?" I ask, my voice just as quiet.
I blink back the tears. The things they say is actually hurtful. I don't know how but they made me question what Chad is to me. Is he going to use me?
No. He isn't going to use me. We've known each other since forever. He had to give me a ride to school and he feels sorry for me...right?
"You" he says and I roll my eyes.
"The boys are jealous because they think we are together. The girls are because their boyfriends are paying attention to you instead of them" he says and I burst out laughing.
"That's bull" I protest.
"Which part?" he asked, masking a confused look.
"All of it" I say.
"STOP STARING!" Dani yells at everyone, probably seeing my state.
Everyone scrambles away and she runs up and hugs me.
"Hey" she whispers.
"Hi" I smile and hug her back.
"What was that about?" she asked quietly and pulls back.
"I'll explain later" I say and she nodded, smiling.
"I'll speak to you later, okay?" Chad says and I nod, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Bye" I smile and he grinned.
"Bye"
